  • Safety Management & Supervision:

    • Prioritize the safety of all campers above all else by rigorously enforcing safety rules, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and operational procedures at all times.

    • Provide thorough and clear safety instructions and demonstrations before each activity, emphasizing potential hazards and safe practices.

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe welding or metalworking area.

    • Closely supervise all camper activities involving tools and materials.

    • Be prepared to immediately address any unsafe behavior or conditions.

    • Be knowledgeable in emergency procedures related to welding or metalworking environments.

  • Project Guidance & Support:

    • Guide camper participation in welding-related projects (which may be simulated or very basic, supervised live welding depending on age and equipment), providing instruction and support.

    • Manage tools, equipment, and materials responsibly, ensuring proper use, maintenance, and safe storage.

    • Foster teamwork and collaboration among campers during group activities.

    • Encourage problem-solving and creative thinking within the bounds of safety and skill level.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Work collaboratively with other camp staff to ensure a cohesive and well-rounded camp experience.

    • Communicate effectively with camp directors and other staff regarding program activities, camper progress, and any safety concerns.

    • Potentially interact with parents/guardians during designated times.

  • Other Duties:

    • Assist with the setup and cleanup of the welding/metalworking area.

    • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required, including safety training.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Camp Director.

Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and implementing safety-focused curriculum.
