The Company
Quest Window Systems Inc (“Quest”) is a manufacturer of a window wall system designed for high-rise residential developments, based in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Quest services clients from all over North America, including major metropolises such as New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Toronto.
- Our Garland Facility is now hiring Warehouse Loader/Stager
- 1st shift (6am-2:30pm) - Ability to work overtime as needed
- Starting hourly pay rate at $17-$20/hour - Full-time direct hire.
Purpose:
This position is responsible to assist with driving the process of cost reduction and optimizing our transportation process. Perform activities related to the receipt, storage, issuance, and shipment of materials for our company. Ensure materials are handling per processes and procedure in an efficient manner.
Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Follow all required safety practices, guidelines and company procedures
- Keep your work area, inside the factory and the Quest grounds safe, clean, and organized at all times
- Report all safety incidents immediately to your direct manager or member of Safety Team
- Maintain good attendance and be at your work area prior to the shift start bell
- Take breaks at designated times and do not leave your work area before the horn end of shift bell
- Be able to work in a team environment
- Provide support and train other team members as instructed
- Learn and understand Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of product, processes and customer expectations
- Monitor the quality of output to identify, discard or re-manufacture faulty products
- Perform related or other responsibilities as required or assigned to meet customer and production requirements
- Perform any and all reasonable requests from management
- Employee will work as part of a team to load and unload heavy loads
- Transport materials or finished products to appropriate locations
- Use computer to transfer inventory or scan product in or out of specified areas
- Follow processes and instructions for complete process of staging and loading all products safely and accurately
- Pick and package orders as needed (includes prep work, wrapping, labeling, etc)
- Work with other departments to coordinate storage and staging
- Recommend process improvements for increased efficiencies
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. ongoing throughout the day
- Requires physical activity, including lifting or moving materials with use of dolly
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Team player who is self-motivated, and has ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively with team associates and leadership staff
- Able to work in a non-climate-controlled factory environment
- Shipping experience is preferred
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
