FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN – WASHINGTON, D.C. AREA

JOB PURPOSE

Quest International is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electro-mechanical and diagnostic equipment at customer locations throughout the Washington, D.C. area.

This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, working directly with customers, traveling to service locations, and independently resolving technical problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Travel to customer sites for equipment installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Diagnose electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment failures.
• Use a digital multimeter and other diagnostic tools to identify equipment problems.
• Repair or replace failed parts, modules, circuit boards, sensors, motors, power supplies, wiring, connectors, harnesses, and assemblies.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Follow service manuals, technical documentation, SOPs, and customer-site safety requirements.
• Document service activity, troubleshooting results, repairs, parts used, and follow-up requirements.
• Communicate professionally with customers, technical teams, and Quest service leadership.
• Maintain tools, service parts, and required field-service equipment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on technical repair, maintenance, installation, or field-service experience.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical equipment.
• Experience using a digital multimeter or similar diagnostic equipment.
• Experience working with wiring, connectors, harnesses, electronic components, mechanical assemblies, or equipment modules.
• Ability to read and follow service manuals, diagrams, SOPs, and technical documentation.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable personal vehicle for work-related travel.
• Ability to maintain required automobile insurance coverage.
• Ability to travel up to 80%, including overnight travel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform hands-on field-service work.
• Ability to complete the required Human Performance Test.
• Compensation alignment with the $24.00–$29.00 per hour range.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

• Medical or diagnostic equipment
• Biomedical equipment
• Laboratory equipment
• Industrial or manufacturing equipment
• Electronics repair
• Electro-mechanical systems
• Automotive diagnostics
• Aviation or military electronics
• Appliance or equipment repair
• Robotics or mechatronics

Additional experience with FRU, module, board, component, sensor, motor, wiring, power-supply, or assembly replacement is highly desirable.

Experience using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, pressure/vacuum meters, frequency counters, power supplies, or electronic test equipment is also beneficial.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a field-based position requiring frequent travel to customer locations throughout the assigned territory. Overnight travel may be required up to 80% of the time.

Work may be performed in medical, diagnostic, laboratory, industrial, manufacturing, OEM, and other customer-site environments.

The position requires standing, bending, lifting equipment up to 50 lbs., using hand and diagnostic tools, and following customer-site safety and access requirements.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Pay Range: $24.00–$29.00 per hour

Actual compensation will be based on job-related factors including technical experience, field-service background, troubleshooting ability, diagnostic-tool experience, and overall alignment with the position.
