Role Description This full-time, remote role is for a Professional Engineer specializing in API 653 inspections and Level II inspections. The professional in this position will perform engineering assessments and integrity evaluations of tanks and related assets in accordance with API 653 and other relevant industry standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning, executing, and documenting inspections, analyzing inspection data, and preparing detailed technical reports and recommendations. The role also involves collaborating with clients and internal teams to define inspection scopes, interpret findings, and support asset integrity and reliability strategies. The engineer will be expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable codes and regulations, support continuous improvement of inspection methodologies, and promote a strong safety and quality culture.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, with knowledge of Electricity and Power Systems.
- Experience with Electrical Design, including Power Distribution and integration with industrial facilities.
- Current or prior experience with API 653 inspections and Level II inspection techniques (e.g., NDE/NDT methods such as UT, RT, MT, PT) is highly desirable.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Familiarity with asset integrity management, reliability engineering, or inspection planning in pipeline, refining, chemical, or power environments.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications, and to prepare clear technical reports and recommendations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple remote projects and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and ethical professional practice; willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field); advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
