CNC Machinist - 1st Shift

Duties

• Set up and operate CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines, ensuring proper calibration and alignment for each job
• Program CNC equipment using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to produce complex parts accurately
• Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements
• Use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators for quality control inspections
• Perform machine tool adjustments, tool changes, and manual machining as needed to meet specifications
• Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained
• Read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) symbols for precise manufacturing outcomes

Requirements

• Proven experience operating CNC machinery, including CNC lathe and milling machines, with proficiency in CNC G-code programming and Mazatrol controls preferred
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and measurement techniques using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision tools
• Knowledge of machining processes such as grinding, boring, drilling, and manual machining techniques
• Familiarity with CAM programming software like SolidWorks or CAD systems for part design and toolpath creation
• Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and execute precise measurements for quality assurance
• Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements
• Ability to set up machines efficiently, troubleshoot issues quickly, and maintain high standards of safety and quality in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality metal components through CNC machining processes

Pay: $25.58 - $30.81 per hour
