Experienced Mold Maker

Role Description the Mold Maker is responsible for building, repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying plastic injection molds to ensure reliable performance and high-quality production. The ideal candidate has strong machining skills, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and work independently in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

·      Build, assemble, repair, and modify plastic injection molds and mold components.

·      Troubleshoot mold issues and perform preventive maintenance to minimize production downtime.

·      Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

·      Perform precision fitting, polishing, spotting, and bench work on mold components.

·      Measure and inspect components using precision measuring instruments.

·      Identify mold wear, damage, and potential quality issues and recommend corrective actions.

·      Work with engineering, machining, and production personnel to resolve mold-related problems.

·      Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

·      Follow established quality procedures and workplace safety requirements.

Qualifications

·      Previous experience as a mold maker, toolmaker, or mold repair technician.

·      Experience with plastic injection molds preferred.

·      Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

·      Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and indicators.

·      Knowledge of mold construction, tooling, fitting, and troubleshooting.

·      Experience operating machine equipment and performing precision bench work.

·      Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.

·      Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·      Reliable attendance, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
