- Administer prescribed medications, monitor self-administrations of medications, follow protocol for disposal of medications, maintain medication count and communicate with pharmacy as needed
- Implement active treatment, training programs, behavior plans/protocols and service goals including, areas of self-help, daily living, social skills, leisure activities and community inclusion for all individuals in the home
- Provide positive social and leisure interaction to all individuals in the home regularly throughout the day
- Assist residents in planning and preparing well-balanced meals and attend to special dietary needs
- Work with the residents to ensure a clean, safe and healthy environment
- Complete housekeeping duties as assigned. This includes washing dishes, stripping and making beds, laundry, taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, mopping and sweeping
- Ensure adequate supervision of individuals in the home. This may include staying past regularly scheduled hours until staff arrive for the next shift or back-up staffing is arranged
- Report to work during inclement weather to ensure adequate supervision and care of all individuals in the home. This may include sheltering in place during a hurricane
- Treat all people with dignity and respect, ensuring all personal rights are met including communicating in a friendly and professional manner with all people, including individuals in the home, coworkers, visitors and customers
- High school diploma (required)
- 18 years of age of older (required)
- Read, write and comprehend English with the ability to remain calm and communicate during a crisis
- Previous working knowledge utilizing household appliances and basic office equipment (washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove, oven, computer, copier, tablet, calculator, etc.) (preferred)
