What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Vessel Designer position at Quest Global?
What You will Do:
- Lead the mechanical design and engineering of pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, and storage tanks specific to gas lift equipment, ESP housings, surface separation vessels, etc.
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis and calculations, including mechanical, thermal, and structural analysis, stress analysis (using FEA software), and life assessments to ensure vessel integrity and safety under various operating conditions.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international codes and standards, particularly ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) Sections VIII (Div 1 & 2), API standards (API 650/620), and NBIC regulations.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, technical specifications, data sheets, and documentation. Review and approve vendor drawings, calculations, and design modifications.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including manufacturing, procurement, quality assurance, and field operations, to ensure design intent is met, improve constructability, and resolve technical issues.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is essential, with a Master's degree often preferred.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of industrial experience in pressure vessel design, preferably within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or refining industries.
- Deep knowledge of ASME, API, and other industry codes and standards.
- Proficiency in pressure vessel design software (e.g., PVElite, CodeCalc, COMPRESS) and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Experience with engineering analysis tools like ANSYS for structural or finite element analysis.
- Strong understanding of material properties and selection for various operating environments, including high temperature/corrosion.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
