What You Will Do
- Analyze, track, and dispose of nonconforming, returned, or damaged materials, acting as a part of the Material Review Board (MRB)
- Lead structured problem-solving (5 Whys, 3-Legged, 8D) to identify root causes, field failures, or repair issues to prevent recurrences
- Develop, review, and approve technical repair schemes and work instructions for aerospace parts (structures, castings, raw material, etc.)
- Analyze defect trends to update maintenance strategies, spare part designs, and standard work instructions
- Ensure MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) activities comply with AS9100, FAA, and FAR145 requirements, including conducting internal and supplier audits
- Monitor key quality metrics (PPM, Cost of Poor Quality) to evaluate repair process stability and effectiveness
- Act as the technical point of contact for customers to resolve quality disputes, investigate complaints, and interface with OEMs regarding repair approvals
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, and Automotive with 2-4 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, repair, overhaul, or supplier quality
- Deep understanding of aircraft systems, GD&T, and specialized repair schemes for large aerospace components
- Proficiency in FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), and Lean Six Sigma
- Familiarity with FAA repair stations regulations, AS9100D standards, and AS9102C First Article Inspection (FAI)
- Familiarity with QMS software, ERP systems, or SAP
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills to work with technicians, engineers, internal, and external customers

Work Requirements: This role is considered an on-site position located in Rockford, IL
- You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
- Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
