Our client located in West Port, Connecticut is looking for a Customer Service & Logistics Coordinator to join their team.
Pay: $28 - $31/hr
In office Monday - Friday, 8am -5pm

The primary functions of this role include fulfilling customer orders from start to finish, responding to inquiries and requests, as well as generating and providing shipment information and documentation. This position is part of a high-performance work team within Customer Service which allows team members to train and rotate through the non-customer facing tasks such as credits and debits, terminal management, logistics, billing and invoicing, while continuing to support the company’s current customer base. This complete mix of capabilities will allow the CSR to act as an effective part of our commercial team and play an impactful role in growing our business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determines customer requirements and expectations; partners with sales team to meet and exceed customer’s service expectations.
- Monitors shipments to ensure timely and cost effective delivery in line with customer expectations and company's commitments. Communicates delivery status and expedites deliveries as needed.
- Serves as a follow up resource to sales by contacting customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction. Identifies customer concerns and complaints, resolving or escalating as appropriate. Ensures effective and long-term resolution.
- Communicates unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products with Sales and Marketing team in a proactive manner.
- Maintains billing documents in support of receivable management (Proof of Delivery, BOLs, Invoices).
- Builds internal partnerships with teams at company's plant sites to maximize daily shipments, including assigning rail cars and scheduling trucks.
- Works with Supply Chain team to monitor fleet location and rail car movement utilizing railroad websites and other logistics systems.
- Monitors terminal inventory levels, reconciles monthly inventory reporting against system records and Identifies and resolves variances.
- Maintains monthly billing statistics and freight charges; tracks mileage earnings.
- Investigates freight bills and verifies for accuracy; monitors held orders and follows up for status.
- Mastery of system applications such as Billing, Invoicing, and Sales Adjustments.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes while focusing on safety and best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field of study, or has equivalent work experience.
- One to three (1 – 3) years of customer service, sales, supply chain or related experience.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to respond to customer needs in a manner that provides added value and generates significant customer satisfaction.
- Experience working in a multi-tasking, dynamic, fluid team environment.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and time management skills.
- Is highly detail oriented, organized and customer focused.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- System experience such as Oracle or SAP a plus
