Accounts Payable Specialist (Contract)
Location: Dunwoody, GA (5 days in Office)
Position Type: Contract / Temporary Coverage through Early September
Compensation: $28-30/HR
Our client is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team immediately for a maternity leave coverage assignment expected to run through Labor Day / early September. This role will support both accounting operations and day-to-day office management functions while working closely with the Senior Accountant and internal property management teams. The ideal candidate will have strong full-cycle accounts payable experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable / Accounting
- Process high-volume invoices across multiple properties/entities
- Perform invoice coding and General Ledger allocations
- Manage vendor setup, W-9s, COIs, and vendor communications
- Process check runs, EFT payments, and payment tracking
- Assist with month-end close support and AP reconciliations
- Maintain organized invoice and accounting documentation
- Work closely with property managers and accounting staff to resolve discrepancies
- Support AP reporting and ensure timely payment processing
Office Management / Administrative Support
- Answer phones and assist with front office operations
- Order office supplies as needed
- Coordinate mail, deliveries, and package distribution
- Maintain a professional and organized office environment
- Manage owner reports and forward recurring reports as needed
Qualifications
- 3 years of Accounts Payable experience required
- Strong General Ledger coding experience
- Experience handling multiple entities, divisions, or properties preferred
- Strong vendor management and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Experience with RealPage or similar property management/accounting software is a plus, but not required
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
