GENERAL SUMMARY:

This job is responsible to troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical controls, layout and install new electrical secondary service including panels, breakers, disconnects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Dismantle electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as brushes and armatures.
  • Install and maintain various types of motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers.
  • Install and monitor performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement.
  • Install grounding leads.
  • Interpret blueprints; works from sketches or verbal instructions.
  • Lay out, assembles, install, test, repair, and adjust electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, wiring, and new services to include panels, breakers, and conduit.
  • Mount motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.
  • Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and/or repair of indicating equipment, to include temperature, pressure, and flow transmitters, gauges, meters, thermocouples, GWR Level Transmitters and resistance temperature directors (RTD's).
  • Coordinate with Regional Purchasing Agent to acquire job materials
  • Track material, job and crew hours
  • Responsible for documentation to support customer billing
  • Review fixed bids and stay within budgetary numbers
  • Responsible for identifying job scopecreep on location and submit change orders to supervisor
  • Perform miscellaneous jobrelated duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.
  • Ability to install and maintain motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems including planning additions or modifications on secondary circuits.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
  • Ability to install grounding leads.
  • Project management
  • Ability to run conduit and cable tray
  • Must be able to operate trenchers, backhoes, forklifts, manlifts or scissors lifts
  • Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work.

EDUCATION, LICENSES & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Certification/Licensure Journeyman Electrician's License; Second Electrical License or a License in a

Related Construction Trade.

  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education

requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is more than 70% of job.
