Quest Employment Services is seeking three Project SEARCH Employment Specialists to support Project SEARCH sites located in Richardson, Rowlett, and Westlake, TX. Each Employment Specialist will be assigned to one site. Positions are anticipated to begin August 17.


The Employment Specialist will collaborate with the local school district, designated host business, and Texas Workforce Solutions–Vocational Rehabilitation Services to support young adults with disabilities as they transition from school to competitive integrated employment. This is a contract position under the supervision of a Quest Employment Services Director.


The Employment Specialist is responsible for supporting interns/customers throughout the employment process, including career readiness, job development, employer communication, interview preparation, job placement, on-site/off-site training support, and documentation of service outcomes.


Responsibilities and Qualifications


  • Collaborate within the school district and Project SEARCH framework while demonstrating professionalism, positivity, and mutual respect.
  • Work under the guidance of Quest’s Director to align services with organizational, program, and contract expectations.
  • Conduct home visits during the summer with interns and families to explain services, gather intake information, and complete assessments.
  • Partner with the school district, host business, and Texas Workforce Solutions to support interns with job applications, interview skills, workplace readiness, and employment goals.
  • Develop job opportunities and assist with job placement for interns/customers.
  • Communicate with employers to identify job openings, workplace expectations, and potential job tasks that align with intern/customer strengths and support needs.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with individuals from diverse professional, cultural, and disability-related backgrounds.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of intern/customer progress, services provided, and employment outcomes in compliance with agency and state requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, self-management, organization, confidentiality, and ethical decision-making skills.
  • Maintain organized electronic case files and practice effective case management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with case management systems preferred.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain UNTWISE credentials in Job Skills Training, Job Placement, and/or Supported Employment. Candidates who are already credentialed will receive priority consideration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Child Development, Social Work, Special Education, or a related field required.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and auto insurance for limited travel within the assigned area.
  • Must be willing to transport interns/customers to interviews as needed.


The position follows the school district calendar, with most work occurring during the academic year. Summer duties may include home visits, intake activities, job development, and job coaching.


Two of Quest’s Directors are Certified Rehabilitation Counselors, offering potential opportunities for graduate students to earn client contact hours or internship experience when applicable.
