What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Technician position at Quest Aviation?
Summary
This position will park, fuel and service any inbound, outbound, and local aircraft. Will tow aircraft using the tug or by hand as needed. Will maintain fuel trucks, keep hangar area clean and organized.
Schedule
We're looking for someone to help cover a few afternoon/evening shifts per week. Typically 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This is not an every day position, and we're flexible on start times if you can't begin right at 3:00 PM.
There may also be an occasional weekend shift 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM on Saturday or Sunday, but those would be scheduled in advance.
Duties and Responsibilities

1. Park, fuel, service any inbound, outbound and local aircraft.
2. Tow aircraft using the tug or by hand as needed.
3. Maintain fuel trucks including: full of fuel (ready to service aircraft), full of gas (to operate truck), fluid levels checked, cabin cleanliness, full of supplies (window cleaner, rags, oil, etc.)
4. Keep hangar floors clean (fluids, dirt, leaves, around walls).
5. Keep hangars neat and organized (put away ladders, rags, cords, cleaners)
6. Complete fuel logs as required.
7. Complete customer invoices and answer phones as required.
8. Assist customers with any reservations needed, tie downs, rental cars, hotel rooms, ice, coffee, etc.
9. Keep lobby, office areas, bathrooms, break rooms and pilot lounge near, clean and organized.
10. Assist maintenance, parts manager and office personnel as needed.
11. Keep courtesy vehicles clean and ready and give courtesy rides to customers as needed.
12. Bring customer vehicles up to aircraft on arrival as needed.
13. Answer Unicom as needed and monitor scanner for inbound aircraft.
14. Perform daily fuel truck and fuel farm inspections when needed.
15. Open and close hangar doors as needed.
16. Provide and operate GPU as requested.
17. Wash, detail, clean interiors of aircraft and vehicles as requested.
18. Handle cash and credit cards as needed.
19. Shovel sidewalks and ramp areas as needed.
20. Spray or pick weeds as needed.
21. Handle any other duties as requested by the manager.
22. Be able to provide deicing of aircraft.
Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or GED.
Preferred but not Required Qualifications
Previous experience with aircraft.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
This position will be exposed to various weather conditions. The noise level may be moderate to loud at times.
Physical Demands
1. Be able to stand on your feet for the duration of your shift.
2. Be able to climb into and out of the fuel trucks.
3. Be able to climb on top of the fuel trucks at the fuel farm.
4. Be able to climb up and stand on an 8-foot ladder while handling a fuel hose and nozzle.
5. Be able to kneel, stoop and ben over to attach tow bars to aircraft and install or remove chocks.
6. Be able to drive the fuel trucks(manual).
7. Be able to operate an aircraft tug (automatic).
8. Be able to clean hangar floors using a broom and mop.
9. Be able to operate a vacuum cleaner through the lobby, pilot lounge, office areas and breakroom.
10. Be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds to a height of 4 feet.
11. Be able to enter vehicles and aircrafts to operate a vacuum cleaner and cleaner solutions and rags.
12. Be able to shovel snow as needed.
13. Be able to remove weeds and pick up garbage.
14. Be able to work in extreme temperatures (-40°F to 100°F outside temp) for a period of time.
Travel
This position does not require travel.
Safety Requirements
Must be aware and conform to all safety requirements when in the facility, operating motor vehicles, or in the field performing duties for the company. Must be aware of OSHA regulations and ensure they are being followed on worksites.
