Quest Autism Programs, Inc. is seeking dedicated professionals to serve on our Human Rights Committee, helping ensure the rights, dignity, and well-being of adults with autism receiving residential and day services.

This volunteer opportunity is ideal for professionals who are passionate about ethical practice, person-centered supports, and advocating for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We Are Seeking

We welcome applications from:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW)
  • Licensed Social Workers (LSW)
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC)
  • Behavioral health and human services professionals
  • Nonprofit professionals with experience in ethics, advocacy, disability services, healthcare, or related fields

Knowledge of New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (NJ DDD) regulations and human rights protections is preferred, but professionals with relevant experience and a commitment to ethical decision-making are encouraged to apply.

About the Role

The Human Rights Committee serves as an independent advisory body that reviews matters involving participant rights, restrictions, and safeguards in accordance with NJ DDD requirements. Committee members work collaboratively with Quest's Executive Director and clinical team to ensure that all individuals supported by the agency are treated with dignity, respect, and the least restrictive supports possible.

Our goal is to build a committee that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve and brings a wide range of professional perspectives, lived experiences, and expertise to the review process.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in monthly Human Rights Committee meetings via Zoom.
  • Review human rights matters and behavioral support plans requiring committee oversight in accordance with NJ DDD guidelines.
  • Advocate for the rights, autonomy, and dignity of the individuals served by Quest.
  • Provide thoughtful, ethical, and objective recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and clinicians to promote person-centered, rights-based practices.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 4 hours per month
  • Meetings are held virtually via Zoom.
  • Occasional additional reviews may be requested as needed to meet NJ DDD Human Rights Committee requirements.
