Summary:
The individual in this role will oversee all general facilities endeavors across our two Boston site locations, as well as all matters related to troubleshooting, maintenance and oversight of various electrical and mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, chilled water, UPS battery system and related needs) that are specific to our quantum computing machines.

Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting of critical infrastructure support systems necessary for efficient operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and energy controls systems.
- Schedule work requests and preventive maintenance efforts during periods of system inactivity or scheduled down-time to reduce chances of business interruptions.
- Provide general oversight of our lab including machine shop management, shipment material handling, cleaning the lab, and inventory management.
- Conduct periodic inspections and audits to confirm compliance with operations and maintenance programs including preventative maintenance, safety training, hazardous materials, OSHA compliance, water treatment and record keeping.
- Monitor all contracted maintenance, repair and construction activities for conformance to established building policies and standards.
- 4 years of experience in a hands-on environment with exposure to HVAC, chilled water and related electrical and mechanical systems engineering.
- Technical school or military training in a relevant field such as HVAC, Electronics, Nuclear Power Plant or equivalent highly preferred.
- Prior shipping, receiving and inventory management efforts within a technical environment highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrable organizational, analytical and project management skills.
- Must be able to regularly stand, walk, reach and use arms to perform tasks as well as push and pull objects and grasp with hands and will be required to sit, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, balance, climb stairs and ladders, work at heights and in environments with temperature ranges both while working outside and inside.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
