The Assistant Coach for Rugby at Queens University of Charlotte is a full-time, on-site position based in Charlotte, NC. This role is responsible for assisting in training, developing, and mentoring student-athletes in alignment with the university’s values and goals. Duties include organizing and executing practices, assisting with strength and conditioning training, providing technical and tactical coaching, and fostering a supportive team environment. The Assistant Coach will also contribute to recruitment efforts, maintain clear communication with all stakeholders, ensure player well-being, and uphold compliance with NCAA regulations and university policies.
- Strong knowledge of Rugby Union and Rugby, including technical skills, game strategy, and player development.
- Proven ability to lead and conduct Training sessions and Sports Coaching with a focus on fostering teamwork and performance improvement.
- Excellent Communication skills, including the ability to motivate athletes, collaborate with coaching staff, and effectively convey instructions.
- Experience in recruiting student-athletes and fostering compliance with NCAA regulations and academic standards is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Education, or a related field is preferred.
