What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upper Elementary/ Middle School Math/Science Teacher position at Queens Hebrew Academy?
We are seeking someone who is comfortable with teaching Math, Science, STEM to students in grades 4-8.
- The candidate should have experience teaching through experimentation and inquiry based learning.
- Familiarity with a variety of educational software and experience in using educational technology to enhance instruction
- Possess a through understanding of effective teaching proactices.
- Create a stimulating learning environment that is sensitive to student's needs.
- Have the ability to use a variety of instructional strategies to engage and support a range of learners
- Develop and use a variety of assessments to measure and guide student progress
- Be able to align instruction to meet the NYS Next Generation Standards
- Be able to work collaboratively with other teachers
- Establish and maintain standards of behavior to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment
