The Queen's Health Systems is the oldest and largest healthcare system in Hawaii. Founded in 1859 by Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV, Queen’s has a long standing reputation for excellence in specialty care across the islands.
Queen’s has been leveraging the electronic health record (EHR) system powered by Epic since 2006. CARE*Link, as the EHR is known at Queen’s, is a system that requires regular maintenance and upgrades in addition to the add-on modules for improved and enhanced performance providing increased utility for end-users and patients through the patient portal.
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supports complex, high-risk projects requiring coordination across multiple operating units.
• Management of small projects of moderate complexity for a single business unit.
• Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates information systems and user needs to determine most effective solutions to meet user’s requirements.
• Supervises and directs work of assigned staff.
• Ensures thorough analysis and evaluation of information systems and user’s needs are conducted and the most cost effective solutions are identified and recommended.
• Provides technical expertise and knowledge and monitors activities to ensure established timelines, goals and objectives are met.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Continuous: seeing, speaking, repetitive arm/hand motions, sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Frequent: standing, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, hearing.
• Occasional: stooping/bending, carrying usual weight of 12 pounds, reaching above shoulder level.
• Operates computer equipment and copy machines.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Work schedule includes providing 24 hours/7 days a week support as required.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) field or related field; or current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification issued by the Project Management Institute and five (5) years of experience in information technology integration may be substituted for the educational requirement.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• In addition to the educational requirement, six (6) years experience in a specific IT area of responsibility.
• Prior supervisory/management experience.
• Two (2) years leadership experience demonstrating ability to manage major projects, preferably in a comparable organization.
