Responsibilities

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for 24/7 daily operations and activities of Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) and Patient Flow, including Bed Control and Transfer Center.
• Establishes and maintains a systematic review and assessment of patient flow activities.
• Provides support to the Manager in data collection, synthesis and analyses related to assigned areas.
• Monitors department(s) to ensure achievement of goals and objectives as established by the business plan, and alignment with the strategic plan and vision of The Queen’s Medical Center (QMC).

• Continuous: sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.

• Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.
• Operates computer, calculator, telephone, fax and printer.

• Current Hawaii state license as a Registered Nurse.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.

• Three (3) years recent nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• One (1) year supervisory/leadership experience.
• Experience to demonstrate knowledge of computer applications and hospital information systems, preferably Epic.
• Prior experience and knowledge of information systems with healthcare enterprise complexity and/or bed tracking/management systems preferred.
