Description The Queens County District Attorney’s Office seeks an experienced Chief Information Officer to work collaboratively, creatively and with determination to create and support a best-in-class information technology bureau that effectively supports the work of the Office. The Chief Information Officer will be responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining enterprise IT projects including both proprietary and vendor-configurable applications. Paramount to the success of the Chief Information Officer will be a relentless focus on user needs, deep experience in IT project implementation and stellar communication skills. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Overseeing and managing the Information Technology Bureau employees that serve a staff of nearly 900 people. Ensuring that all IT infrastructure, software and in-house development projects are properly planned, staffed, monitored and reported. Consulting with the District Attorney and executive staff regarding policies and objectives relating to the information technology functions of the office. Managing the formulation, development, implementation, modification and evaluation of programs, and policies and procedures that affect technological and systems development, management of information systems, informational interchange operations, and communications systems operations. Overseeing the implementation of technology projects while ensuring compliance with project timelines and goals and objectives Experience in analyzing the benefits, cost, return on investment, and risk of IT related projects. Researching and evaluating new technologies to be used as enhancements or upgrades to existing server, network, cloud, and other IT infrastructure. Staying current on the latest IT trends and best practices and continuously seeking opportunities to improve the agency’s technological capabilities to meet the needs of the Criminal Justice Community. Collaborating with key City agencies on technology issues, including OTI, New York City Cyber Command and other relevant agencies on information security and cybersecurity issues Implementing policies to secure sensitive and confidential data Performing special projects and other duties as assigned. Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements: A baccalaureate degree in computer science or related field from an accredited college or university and ten (10) years of progressively more responsible, full-time experience using information technology in computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, user services, or area networks; at least 5 years of this experience must have been in a managerial or executive capacity in the areas of computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, or in the supervision of staff performing these duties; or education and/or experience equivalent to the above. A master's degree in computer science or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact with executive leadership and experience in handling confidential information. Salary commensurate with experience. Salary range from $205,000 to $210
