Position Summary
Housing Intake Specialist assess client needs, gather required documentation, determine program eligibility, and connect clients with appropriate housing resources and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Conduct interviews with prospective clients.
· Assess housing needs, barriers, and eligibility for programs.
· Collect and maintain accurate client records and documentation.
· Explain housing programs, policies, and application requirements.
· Coordinate referrals to housing counselors, case managers, landlords, and community resources.
· Maintain databases and track client progress.
· Assist with housing applications, recertifications, and required paperwork.
· Provide excellent customer service and crisis intervention when necessary.
· Ensure compliance with agency, funding source, and regulatory requirements.
· Familiar with case management software. (Legal Server, Clio)
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma required, associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Experience working in legal services, nonprofit organizations, social services, housing programs, or public interest environments strongly preferred.
Experience with case management systems and data reporting platforms, preferably Legal Server, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Experience in housing services, social services, customer service, or case management.
· Knowledge of housing programs, fair housing laws, and community resources.
· Strong organizational, communication, and data-entry skills.
· Ability to work with diverse populations and individuals experiencing housing instability.
