Queens Community House (QCH) is a multi-site, multi-service settlement house that serves the diverse neighborhoods of Queens. We serve residents of all ages, races, faiths, and ethnicities while supporting the viability of the borough as a whole.
QCH was formed in 1975 (as Forest Hills Community House) to help heal the wounds of a neighborhood conflict. Over four decades, our reach and breadth have grown; today we offer a broad network of comprehensive services at 25 program sites in 11 different neighborhoods in Queens, allowing us to impact individuals, families, and entire communities.

Queens Community House is seeking volunteers for our Friendly Visiting Program!
QCH's Friendly Visiting Program pairs homebound older adults with caring volunteers for weekly visits, fostering meaningful connections and reducing isolation and loneliness in our community. Friendly visiting is an enriching opportunity for the volunteer to develop a meaningful friendship. Together, the older adult and volunteer can discuss shared interests, learn/teach new skills, read books, learn technology, and much more!

Volunteer Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Commit to at least 6 months of volunteering
- Complete a background check
- Provide 2 non-familial references
