o Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
o Ability to keep accurate records and do mathematical calculations.
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs duties related to the scheduling and processing of patients for medical services according to established guidelines.
- Provides information for financial assistance to patients in identifying resources to cover anticipated clinic charges not covered by health plan, insurance, or other sources.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity.
- Constant: repetitive arm/hand motions.
- Frequent: reaching below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.
- Occasional: standing, walking, sitting, stooping/bending, twisting body, lifting, pushing/pulling and carrying weight up to 20 pounds, reaching at shoulder level.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
B. EXPERIENCE:
- One (1) year general office, clerical, or customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare related setting, such as a clinic, hospital, health care agency, medical insurance, physician's office, etc; or completion of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program/degree.
- Experience to demonstrate:
o Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
o Ability to keep accurate records and do mathematical calculations.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 & CPT coding and medical terminology preferred.
- Prior experience with computerized scheduling systems preferred.
