Queen's North Hawaii Community Hospital is searching for a Full-Time Biomedical Equipment Specialist to work 40 hours per week.
Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital is a 35-bed rural acute care hospital located in Waimea (Kamuela), Hawaii Island. More than 300 employees and over a dozen employed physicians staff the main hospital, as well the outpatient clinics located in the Lucy Henriques Medical Center, at our Primary Care Clinic located near Longs Drugs, and at our Specialty Clinic located in the Parker Ranch Center.

JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs a variety of maintenance, repair, installation, calibration and fabrication duties relating to highly complex, sophisticated, specialized equipment and systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- Associate’s degree in Biomedical or Electronics Technology; OR completion of the Department of Defense Biomedical Equipment Technician training program; OR two (2) years training as a biomedical or electronic technician; OR certified or certified eligible Biomedical Electronic Technician (CBMET) by Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
EXPERIENCE:
- In addition to the education/certification and licensure requirement, five (5) years work experience in working on mechanical or electrical devices with at least two (2) years work experience as a Biomedical Technician, preferably in a comparable organization.
- Experience as a lead person or practice in an area of specialized equipment.
