Queen City Veterinary Internal Medicine is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join the team. If you are passionate about helping animals, being a support system for clients, and working with an incredible team, you are in the right area!

We are open Tuesdays - Fridays from 8am to 5pm, therefor each employee has a four day work week with a three day weekend! QCVIM is a privately owned specialty practice that has been open for one year and is growing! We take pride in having positive connections to best support the veterinary community.
Daily Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
- Assist with fear free feline and canine restraint and handling techniques, including for radiology and ultrasound imaging.
- Help manage/run laboratory procedures including in house diagnostics, out of house diagnostics, and routine machine maintenance.
- Assist with inventory stocking and re-order levels.
- Assist with phone and email communications with clientele. Including but not limited to scheduling appointments, medical record keeping, and collecting payments.
- Help with hospital daily cleaning tasks including biweekly cleaning responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a veterinary assistant is most ideal but will consider experience in another role within the veterinary field as well.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy.
- Demonstrated skills in animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Familiarity with phlebotomy and laboratory procedures.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compassionate care for animals.
- Effective and positive communications with clientele and co-workers.
- Familiarity with ezyVet or other veterinary medical record keeping PIMS.
- Ability to show up with a positive attitude and a helping hand.
