#### Position Description
Collaborate with the ICT Team to ensure availability, reliability, interoperability and scalability of organization servers and storage to meet necessary operational and security requirements.
Perform tasks to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of in-house information systems.
Execute and document activities related to the planning, installation, configuration, and implementation of server and storage upgrades, server to server migrations, infrastructure capacity specifications, system maintenance, fixes, and vendor-supplied patches.
Manage new and existing SSL Certificates throughout the organization.
Perform tasks related to and assist with policy and procedures maintenance efforts related to the Organizations server backup and recovery and patch management processes.
Assist System Engineer team with ongoing configuration and setups related to new and existing applications primarily used internally by ICT staff, including but not limited to active directory and email components of Office365, ancillary email and spam filtering applications, remote support portal, support ticketing system, etc.
Build relationships with third-party vendors and stay knowledgeable of applicable technology roadmaps, available integrations, and to facilitate support when needed.
Provide ongoing assistance to end users, including troubleshooting problems and resolving issues.
Assist in the creation of standards and processes as it relates to system configuration, enterprise directory services, event logging, vulnerability management and penetration testing.
Assist with problem determination and resolution efforts when operational issues arise.
Check support tickets for entries on IT system applicable issues; prioritize and respond to support tickets as appropriate.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues that are elevated from Helpdesk.
Provide cordial, responsive, and accurate customer service.
Provide direction and guidance to junior members of the team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware and associated network equipment, including SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology. Ability to effectively troubleshoot and configure Windows Server operating systems.
Application support experience with Azure and Active Directory/Global Catalog, ADFS, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, MS Exchange, O365 Administration, MS SQL, IIS, VMware, Terminal Services, print servers, and anti-virus.
Familiarity with TCP/IP network protocols and firewall, routing and telecommunication concepts.
General knowledge of SAN and NAS storage technologies.
Creation, verification and testing of back procedures and snapshots.
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
Knowledge of common office software applications, and the ability to learn and master other specialty software applications used by the organization.
Knowledge of trends in technology relating to ystem technologies to include both in-house and out-sourced system technologies.
Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for internal reference, training, and/or end user procedures.
Broad knowledge of programming languages and techniques, including SQL, SSRS, and PowerShell.
Must be able to function independently, or as a member of a team when required.
Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
Possesses strong time management and collaboration skills.
Must have excellent written and oral communications skills.
**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**
Possession of a Class C Maryland Motor Vehicle Operators License (or the equivalent from another issuing state) or the ability to obtain such a license within thirty (30) days of employment to position.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
A Bachelors Degree in technology-related field is preferred. Must possess a High School Diploma or GED. Minimum three (3) years of IT systems and data management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**
Typically sit at a desk or computer table. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components. Crawling, climbing, and stooping may be required.Lifting of computers and related components up to 50 lbs.

**WORK CONDITIONS**

This position has been designated as an ESSENTIAL POSITION and may be required to report to or remain on duty when County offices are closed due to inclement weather or for other reasons.
An employee in this position may be required to work shift work, overtime, weekends and holidays and/or remain on standby for a call back to work.

This position is one within the Queen Annes County Civil Service System.An employee must serve a period of twelve-month probation during which he or she may be terminated without notice, cause, hearing or right of appeal.

- The salary for this position is the minimum of the range.**This position is in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Department. The incumbent is supervised by the IT Systems Manager. The System Engineer II role is to assist with the coordination, installation, administration and optimization of organization servers, storage, and related components.
