Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Geotechnical Engineer role based in Houston, TX. The Geotechnical Engineer will plan and execute geotechnical site investigations, including coordinating field drilling programs, logging soil borings, and overseeing in-situ testing. This role includes interpreting laboratory test results, performing geotechnical analyses (such as bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, and pavement design), and developing foundation and earthwork recommendations tailored to local soil conditions. The engineer will prepare P.E.-quality technical reports, support construction materials testing and foundation observations, and collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and field personnel to resolve geotechnical issues during design and construction. Additional responsibilities include supporting proposal development, maintaining project documentation, and ensuring work complies with applicable codes, standards, and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications
- Strong geotechnical engineering skills, including experience with Geotechnical Engineering principles and Engineering Geology applied to design and construction.
- Proficiency in subsurface characterization, including Site Investigation planning, soil boring log review, and interpretation of in-situ and laboratory Soil test data.
- Demonstrated ability in Foundation Design, including deep and shallow foundations, retaining structures, and pavement sections appropriate for regional soil conditions.
- Familiarity with applicable standards and methods (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO) and common geotechnical software for analysis and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering) or a closely related field; master’s degree in geotechnical engineering is a plus.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas or ability to obtain it within a reasonable timeframe preferred.
- Experience working with or alongside construction materials testing (CMT) laboratories and field technicians is beneficial.
