Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative biophysicist to join our Platform Biology team. In this role, you will play a key part in leading the design and implementation of cell-free biochemical and biophysical assays to evaluate our induced-proximity technologies and our portfolio targets. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team in executing drug discovery projects from early screening through candidate identification.
Key responsibilities include:
· Develop and execute biochemical and biophysical assays for measuring protein-protein, protein-ligand interactions, or enzymatic activity. Investigate mechanism(s)-of -action, protein-protein or small molecule-protein complex characterization using biophysical approaches. Present research findings to Quarry’s scientific and management teams.
Qualifications
· Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related field.
OR
B.S./M.S. with 10 years of work experience including 5 years in biopharma designing and developing biochemical and biophysical assays
· A deep understanding of protein-protein and small molecule-protein interaction assay design, development and troubleshooting.
· Expertise across a spectrum of biochemical and/or biophysical assays (e.g., FP, TR-FRET, DSF, SPR, ITC, etc.)
· Experience in small molecule hit discovery campaigns (e.g., HTS, DEL, AS-MS, etc.) is preferred
· Experience with affinity capture assays, including ELISA, phage display, and mRNA display is a plus
· Strong desire to work collaboratively within an innovative team environment
