Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer Architect with strong expertise in AWS Elastic VMware Service (EVS), VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), and enterprise network architecture. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, securing, and managing hybrid cloud environments, enabling seamless connectivity between on-premises data centers and AWS-based VMware workloads.

This role requires deep knowledge of AWS networking, VMware technologies, cloud migration strategies, software-defined networking (SDN), and network security.

Key Responsibilities

AWS & VMware Integration

• Provision and configure VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSAN, and NSX overlay networks on AWS infrastructure.
• Design and implement scalable hybrid-cloud network architectures.
• Integrate AWS VPC environments with VMware NSX overlay networks.

Hybrid Cloud Architecture

• Design, build, and maintain AWS Direct Connect and AWS Transit Gateway connectivity.
• Establish secure communication between on-premises data centers and AWS cloud environments.
• Manage north-south and east-west traffic routing across hybrid environments.

Network Security & Firewall Management

• Implement network segmentation using AWS Network Firewall and VMware NSX micro-segmentation.
• Ensure secure workload communication between EVS clusters, VPCs, and enterprise environments.
• Define and enforce network security policies and best practices.

Infrastructure Automation

• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Automate network provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.

Migration & Transformation

• Support large-scale VMware workload migration initiatives using VMware HCX and related technologies.
• Plan migration cutovers and rollback strategies to minimize business disruption.
• Ensure smooth migration of workloads from on-premises environments to AWS EVS.

DNS & Routing

• Configure and manage Amazon Route 53, VPC Route Servers, and enterprise routing architectures.
• Optimize traffic flows across ingress and egress networks.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 years of experience in Network Architecture, Cloud Networking, and VMware Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• AWS Elastic VMware Service (EVS)
• VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
• VMware NSX
• vSphere
• vSAN
• Extensive knowledge of:
• Layer 2 and Layer 3 Networking
• BGP
• BFD
• IP Routing Protocols
• Network Design & Troubleshooting
• Experience designing and managing:
• AWS Direct Connect
• AWS Transit Gateway
• AWS VPC Networking
• Strong understanding of AWS native services including:
• EC2
• S3
• NAT Gateway
• Security Groups
• Network ACLs
• Experience with Infrastructure Automation using:
• Terraform
• AWS CloudFormation
• Python
• Bash Scripting
• Experience supporting enterprise cloud migration and transformation projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• AWS Cloud Certifications
• Experience with VMware HCX migrations
• Experience supporting large enterprise hybrid-cloud environments

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in AWS networking, VMware technologies, hybrid cloud architecture, and enterprise network security. Experience designing and implementing AWS EVS solutions, VMware NSX networking, and large-scale cloud migration initiatives is highly preferred.
