Electrical Engineer II – Advanced Programs

Who We’re Looking For

Quantum Space is redefining mobility and maneuverability in space. Our high-mobility spacecraft platforms support national security, civil, and commercial missions with unmatched flexibility and propulsion capability. We build fast and iterate quickly. We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and testing of spacecraft electrical systems and defense-related space technologies. In this role, you will contribute to spacecraft avionics, communications, power systems, embedded electronics, and hardware integration activities while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams. You will work hands-on with cutting-edge aerospace hardware in a fast-paced environment supporting national security and spaceflight missions.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II to support the development of specialized spacecraft electronics hardware for next-generation Ranger missions. This role is intended for an engineer capable of contributing to hardware development efforts from early concept and prototyping through integration and flight delivery.

You will work closely with systems, mechanical, thermal, RF communications, FPGA, and flight software teams to develop reliable spacecraft electronics supporting long-duration, high-mobility missions. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on execution, hardware integration, rapid iteration, and spacecraft mission support.

Where You’ll Make an Impact

Support development of specialized spacecraft electronics hardware from concept through prototype, integration, qualification, and flight delivery

Contribute to the design and development of analog, digital, and mixed-signal spacecraft electronics systems

Develop schematic capture and PCB designs supporting avionics, communications, embedded electronics, and spacecraft subsystems

Support hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, validation testing, and anomaly resolution activities

Collaborate with systems, RF communications, mechanical, thermal, FPGA, and software engineering teams to support integrated spacecraft hardware development

Assist with hardware integration and validation activities during spacecraft assembly, integration, and test campaigns

Participate in schematic reviews, design trade studies, and technical discussions across advanced spacecraft programs

Support generation and maintenance of electrical documentation including schematics, interface definitions, test procedures, and verification artifacts

Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to improve hardware reliability, manufacturability, and mission readiness

Operate within fast-paced development environments supporting high-reliability spacecraft systems

Participate in major development reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and FRR activities

Develop and maintain technical documentation including schematics, interface control documents, requirements, verification artifacts, and test procedures

What It Takes

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline

3 years of experience developing electronics hardware for aerospace applications

Experience designing data communication interfaces including RS-422/485, CAN, LVDS, I2C, and SPI

Familiarity with standard electronics laboratory equipment including DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and spectrum analyzers

Strong ECAD skills including schematic capture and PCB design

Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics fundamentals

Experience supporting hardware integration, debugging, and validation activities

Ability to troubleshoot electrical hardware and support root-cause investigations

Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, iterative engineering environment

Nice-to-Have Experience

M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

Direct experience developing electronics hardware for spacecraft or spaceflight applications

Experience using the Cadence ECAD suite including OrCAD and Allegro

Experience designing mixed-signal, timing-critical, multi-layer PCBs

Experience applying EEE component derating methodologies for space environments in accordance with INST-002

Experience performing schematic and hardware design reviews

Experience designing high-speed interfaces including LVDS, SpaceWire, and Gigabit Ethernet

Experience integrating ultrastable oscillators

Experience supporting spacecraft assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) activities

Familiarity with spacecraft avionics architectures and embedded electronics systems

Exposure to environmental testing including TVAC, vibration, and EMI/EMC campaigns
