Position Overview

Our client is seeking an Associate Attorney with approximately 3–5 years of litigation experience to become the dedicated associate supporting one of the firms Senior Counsel in the Winter Park office. While medical malpractice experience is preferred, the firm is equally interested in attorneys coming from personal injury defense or plaintiff-side personal injury practices who possess strong litigation fundamentals and are eager to transition into sophisticated plaintiff-side medical malpractice work. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney looking to develop as a trial lawyer while working on complex, meaningful cases without the pressure of building a personal book of business.

Responsibilities

• Draft motions, responses, pleadings, and other litigation filings
• Attend and take depositions
• Appear at hearings and assist with trial preparation
• Review and analyze medical records
• Work with medical experts throughout litigation
• Assist with case evaluation and medical malpractice intake investigations
• Prepare exhibits and support all phases of complex litigation

Ideal Background

• J.D. and licensed to practice in Florida
• Approximately 3–5 years of civil litigation experience
• Personal injury litigation experience strongly preferred
• Medical malpractice experience is a plus, but not required
• Experience drafting pleadings, handling discovery, taking or defending depositions, and appearing in court
• Strong legal writing, organization, and analytical skills

Location

Winter Park, Florida

Schedule: In-office, Monday through Friday. The firm offers flexibility around personal schedules, but attorneys are expected to take ownership of their cases and do what is required to deliver exceptional work.
