Job Title: Program Assistant
Hours: Current hours for this position will be Monday through Friday shifts available are 7am-3pm, 8am- 4pm or 9am-5pm 
Pay: This is an entry level staff position at or about minimum wage. Increase will be
evaluated based on experience, training and additional certifications at 90 days and
with annual evaluations.
DESCRIPTION
The Program Assistant provides daily practical support for programming as well as
assistance to individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) during programming.
Supervision is provided under the general direction of the Case Manager with input
from the Day Program Director and the Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following (other duties may be assigned by supervisor):
ï‚· Take leadership in cleaning and maintaining good hygiene in every area of the
facility.
ï‚· Take lead role in daily set up of activities both in-house and in the community
ï‚· Maintain and follow guidelines for keeping individuals safe
ï‚· Follow individual plans and assist individuals in working toward goals and
completing necessary documentation
ï‚· Provide post program clean up assistance as well as routine clean-up of facility as
needed (mopping, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, taking out trash, etc.)
ï‚· Assist individuals with a wide range of ADL’s, as indicated by individual needs of
each Individual Plan. These may include some level of support in: assistance in
toileting, grooming, eating, dressing, and walking.
ï‚· Document and maintain timely records of receipts, morning/opening and
evening/closing checklists as well as other documentation and paperwork required
for essential program and position functioning.
ï‚· Assist individuals with program activities, initiating and encouraging socialization
among individuals.
ï‚· Learn to identify different types of programming offered, for example, social
engagement and therapeutic engagement. Demonstrate appropriate supportive
interventions based on the activity that is being offered.

ï‚· Assist individuals with program activities encouraging participation according to
the type of activity offered and the individual’s care plan/level of assistance
needed.
ï‚· Observe and report pertinent information to designated supervisory staff.
ï‚· Maintain confidentiality of individuals and their families.
ï‚· Make sure the facility is secure for individuals who may have a tendency to wander
away and be alert at all times to the whereabouts of every participant.
ï‚· Focus on the well-being of the individuals and pay close attention to the individual
needs of each person.
ï‚· Attend all in-service and staff trainings in order to ensure understanding and
adherence to all agency policies and procedures including health, safety,
emergency procedures. Demonstrate willingness and ability to learn and develop
new skills in order to maintain certifications or agency policies.
ï‚· Other duties will be offered and assigned based on individual staff’s skills and
interests and program needs.
