Prepress Technician / 12 pm -8 pm Shift

GENERAL SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pre-Press Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing digital files for printing, managing pre-press workflows and ensuring high-quality print output. This role involves both computer-based tasks and physical activities requiring close collaboration with various departments to resolve issues and maintain efficiency.
This is not a design position.

Description of Essential Duties:

• Pre-flight and prepare customer-supplied files for print production
• Create and send digital proofs to clients for approval
• Make revisions and corrections to files as requested
• Review and interpret job tickets to plan workflow
• Output printing plates using a CTP (Computer-to-Plate) system
• Collaborate with production and customer service teams to ensure job accuracy

Tasks Include:

· Press layouts

· Making corrections

· Digital plate processing

· Prepress electronic stripping

· Troubleshooting

· Preparing client files

· Manipulating text and pictures

Additionally:

• Must have 3 years' experience as a Prepress Technician in a commercial print facility
• High school diploma or equivalent, Associate's degree in Printing Technology of related field is preferred.
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
• Familiarity with imposition software (XMF a plus, but not required)
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• High level of accuracy

Required Communications:

Inside Quantum Graphics: Communicates regularly with other employees and Supervisor.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Position requires standing: 90% sitting 10% standing or bending.

Ability to lift plates weighing between 5 lbs.- 30 lbs.

Will be required to wear closed-toe shoes
