Position Overview:

As a cargo agent, you will assist customers during the shipping and handling process by expediting and routing the movement of incoming and outgoing cargo and freight shipments for air transportation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

Arrives on time and in uniform;

Builds up and breaks down cargo pallets and freight containers following guidelines;

Cleans up work area during and at end of each shift;

Ensures all company and customer safety standards are met and maintained;

Follow all company Policies and Procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual;

Hold equipment certifications and operates equipment safely;

Identifies cargo that does not meet customer or company standards and or guidelines;

Obtains proper security documents for all shipments;

Organizes freight within the warehouse according to the base storage plan;

Performs other duties assigned by management;

Properly and safely loads and unloads freight;

Protects freight from elements, damage and vandalism;

Verifies upon receipt from customer shipment pieces, weight, dimensions and air worthiness;

Verifies upon delivery to customer shipment pieces and airway bill numbers

Required Skills and Experience:

• Maintain and treat all information as confidential
• Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives
• Must be able to read, write, understand, and carry out instructions in English
• Must be able to direct in English verbally
• A valid driver’s license is required for this position

Work Environment:

• Warehouse - physically strenuous, prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to noise (maybe

excessive at times), safe but potentially unpleasant odors, varying temperatures, and humidity in and around heavy moving equipment.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, crawl in awkward positions
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds at times
• May be exposed to hazards inherent in airport operations, including noise, vehicles, equipment, and weather, all of which are well-managed with a high level of training, personal protective equipment, and safety procedures
