Context:
We are looking for a Corporate Actions Analyst to join a leading international financial institution's New York operations team, within Capital Markets Operations (CMO). The group manages the full lifecycle of corporate action events — mandatory and voluntary — that affect shareholders and the value of securities across custody and inventory accounts. The environment is fast-paced, accuracy-driven, and client-facing, with close interaction with trading, settlements, and risk teams.
Role:
- Process mandatory and voluntary corporate action events — dividends, mergers, stock splits, rights issues, bankruptcies — for Custody and Inventory accounts
- Calculate, record, and distribute dividends and coupon payments accurately and on time
- Reconcile cash and stock differences; verify stock ownership on record dates and resolve discrepancies
- Advise and support clients and shareholders on events, entitlements, and account inquiries
- Monitor operational risks, maintain control reviews, and implement risk mitigation strategies
- Maintain accurate records of payments and shareholder data; develop and document operational procedures
Profile:
- Prior experience in Capital Markets Operations, corporate actions, or a related settlements/custody role
- Strong attention to detail and high standards for accuracy in financial data processing
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial systems
- Clear communicator, comfortable liaising with internal teams and external clients
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under time pressure
