Business Analyst Quality Assurance

We are currently seeking a Solution Architect. Candidates must be located within 90 miles of Lansing, MI. Interviews will be in person in Lansing, MI. There is no option for a video interview. The work schedule is hybrid with two days onsite (Wednesdays and Thursdays) in Lansing, MI and three days remote. There is no option for a fully remote work schedule.

We are seeking an experienced System Analyst to support Agile project delivery by gathering, documenting, and validating clear and unambiguous business requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of business processes to effectively communicate system functionality to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This position functions as part of an Agile team with heavy usage of Azure DevOps. The System Analyst will also serve as a Scrum Master, coordinating closely with project teams and the PMO to ensure proper documentation and artifact delivery for State of Michigan projects. The role involves analyzing current and future-state business processes, data, and systems to guide requirements gathering and testing aligned with desired system functionality.

Job Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
• Develop process flows, use cases, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams.
• Create test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases.
• Execute functional, integration, and regression testing; log and track defects.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business stakeholders.
• Validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Assist with system demonstrations, training materials, and production validation.
• Ensure documentation remains accurate and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
• Serve as Scrum Master, leveraging Azure DevOps for backlog and workflow management.
• Analyze as-is and to-be business processes to support system improvements.

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
• 3 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst.
• 3 years of experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools (e.g., JIRA), including creating and
• managing epics, features, and user stories.
• Strong understanding of BA, QA, and Development roles/responsibilities.
• Experience with as-is/to-be process documentation and content creation.
• Experience creating and maintaining product roadmaps.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Experience with BA/QA tools such as Figma, Visio, or similar.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
