JOB DESCRIPTION

Quanta Telecommunications is actively seeking a Safety Supervisor, to oversee all construction-related safety functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Be an advocate for safe working conditions and influence all team members to commit to a safe working environment.

· Promote safe working conditions on job sites and encourage employees to identify unsafe conditions or actions.

· Plan and execute company-wide safety meetings.

· Perform regular jobsite safety inspections to ensure compliance with national, state, company and client requirements.

· Conduct new hire safety orientation training and other training as required.

· Develop jobsite and project specific Health and Safety Plans.

· Identify and evaluate potential unsafe working conditions and take corrective action to prevent injuries and accidents.

· Establish positive working relationships and interact with site and client safety personnel.

· Create and review Site-Specific Safety Plans, Job Hazard Analyses, and Safety Action Plans.

· Employee is expected to make multiple stops to local jobsites throughout the day.

· Investigate accidents, determine root cause, and implement preventive measures.

· Maintain safety training documentation.

· The Safety Supervisor is expected to visit their Project locations on a weekly basis. Overnight stays and frequent travel will be a regular part of this position.

· Professional development and any additional training as required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Skills):

· 5 years of experience in Safety and Health in the Construction Field.

· Training in and working knowledge of Fall Protection, Silica, Confined Spaces, PPE, Trenching and Excavation, and general construction safety.

· Ability and willingness to interact with and engage employees.

· Ability and willingness to interact with management and clients.

· Knowledge of OSHA standards.

· One of the following certifications: a certification from BCSP or equivalent and OSHA 500 Trainer.

· First Aid and CPR trainer.

· Excellent computer skills. Proficient in Word and Excel. Able to navigate Safety Auditing Software.

· Ability to travel

WORK CONDITIONS:

FIELD: Work is performed most frequently outdoors in weather conditions that vary from sub-zero to heat above 90 degrees, in wet and dry conditions and in rural areas. Employee may performs duties around energized and de-energized electric lines and equipment and moving mechanical parts. Work may be performed in confined spaces. Some exposure to odors, gases, dust and dirt may occur. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. Employee will spend most of his time driving to multiple jobsites throughout the day.

Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Quanta.

OFFICE: Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others.

Business requirements may frequently necessitate that work be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
