Our client (a world leading hedge fund) seeks an experienced hands-on Data Center Manager to oversee their multiple data sites in NY Metro Area (position is located in NJ).
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations and capacity of data centers
- Offer mentorship and guidance to technicians and other team members to foster their professional growth
- Construct, deploy, and resolve issues with servers, storage systems, network devices, and copper/fiber cabling
- Introduce improvements to procedures and protocols
- Coordinate daily tasks and workflows
- Aid in forecasting future site needs
- Manage vendor relationships
Requirements:
- A minimum of 8 years of expertise in overseeing data center operations and leading teams
- Proficiency in building, deploying, and troubleshooting servers, storage systems, network devices, and copper/fiber cabling
- Demonstrated aptitude in project management and successful delivery of projects
- Proven ability to effectively manage vendor relationships and drive positive outcomes
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
