Legal Counsel/Corporate Counsel -
Reports To: SR. HR Director
Position Summary:
As Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to our organization on various legal matters. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, mitigate legal risks, and support business objectives. The Legal Counsel serves as the organization's primary legal advisor, partnering with executive leadership, Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to provide strategic legal guidance, manage legal risk, and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. This position oversees employment law, immigration, corporate governance, litigation, regulatory compliance, contract administration, and corporate legal matters while supporting the company's long-term business objectives.
Essential Functions:
· Provide legal guidance to Human Resources regarding employee relations, investigations, corrective actions, accommodations, reductions in force, wage and hour compliance, and leave administration.
· Ensure compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, EEOC, NLRA, Title VII, and other employment regulations.
· Manage corporate litigation, employment claims, commercial disputes, administrative charges, and coordinate outside counsel.
· Direct responses to government audits, investigations, subpoenas, EEOC, OSHA, and Department of Labor inquiries.
· Oversee employment-based immigration programs including visas, permanent residency petitions, and outside immigration counsel.
· Review, draft, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts, NDAs, vendor agreements, customer agreements, leases, and settlement agreements.
· Maintain corporate governance records and organizational filings.
· Advise executive leadership on legal strategy, business risk, acquisitions, restructuring, and strategic initiatives.
· Develop legal and compliance training for leadership and employees.
· Provide guidance on intellectual property protection and confidentiality.
· Qualifications
· Corporate law, contract law, litigation management, and regulatory compliance.
· 3-5 Years experience managing corporate litigation and commercial contracts.
· Ability to advise executive leadership and balance legal risk with business objectives.
· Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
· High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
· Familiarity with relevant legal software and tools.
· Commitment to staying updated on legal developments and continuous professional developments.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
· Ability to bend, stoop, stand/sit for prolonged periods.
· Work environment is a typical office environment.
