POSTED ON 5/16/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/14/2026

Mechanical Engineers support manufacturing readiness by translating Industrial Engineering plans into detailed workstation, equipment, and tooling solutions. At Level 2, the Mechanical Engineer works independently or with minimal supervision within at least one core area of mechanical engineering expertise, taking ownership of workstation/equipment planning installation, maintenance, and production support activities. This role contributes directly to manufacturing stability, efficiency, and equipment reliability while continuing to broaden technical scope across additional areas.

The Industrial Engineering team plays a critical role in preparing manufacturing operations for successful execution once customer commitments are confirmed. The team works closely with Facilities and manufacturing teams to plan and establish production layouts, equipment placement, tooling, and supporting infrastructure, ensuring production lines are designed for efficiency, safety, scalability, and cost effectiveness.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain workstation Bills of Materials (BOMs), equipment quantities, and setup requirements based on testing topology and inputs from Test Engineering and Research & Development teams.

• Own the design and configuration of standardized workstations within a primary area of expertise (e.g., testing stations, filling/melting machines), ensuring ergonomic, efficient, and repeatable setups across production lines.

• Lead or independently execute workstation installation activities, coordinating with Facilities, IT, and vendors to ensure equipment and layouts meet defined standards.

• Create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for workstation setup, operation, and basic maintenance.

• Provide ongoing production support by monitoring equipment performance, reviewing

maintenance reports, and implementing corrective actions to reduce downtime and recurring failures.

• Drive fixture and tool development within assigned scope by identifying production needs, supporting design efforts, coordinating fabrication or 3D printing, and validating solutions on the production floor.

• Support equipment reliability initiatives by analyzing failure trends, proposing improvements, and coordinating maintenance or vendor support as needed.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Production teams to support line balancing, layout adjustments, and production changes.

• Provide guidance and technical support to the team and Mechanical Technicians within assigned projects or areas of responsibility.

• Ensure all mechanical solutions comply with safety, quality, and operational standards.

Required Skills/Abilities: (Example of skills set)

• Solid working knowledge of mechanical engineering principles applied to manufacturing

environments.

• Demonstrated ability to independently execute tasks within one core mechanical engineering area.

• Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.

• Experience developing and maintaining BOMs, SOPs, and workstation documentation.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze equipment issues and implement effective solutions.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills across engineering, facilities, and production teams.

• Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., Creo/Fusion 360/AutoCAD/Pro-E or equivalent) preferred.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline required.

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or production support
