- Analyze and execute all aspects of the procurement of raw materials, packaging, MRO, freight and associated services to include competitive bidding, source selection, purchase order creation, and supplier management.
- Analyze global market developments for key commodities and develop strategic plans to mitigate adverse effects and take advantage of positive developments.
- Coordinate with Operations on ERP driven requirements to ensure material availability, price/cost visibility and assure compliance with inventory guidelines.
- Coordinate with internal customers on the sourcing and purchase of non-ERP requirements to assure best value for Quanex while meeting customer needs.
- Negotiate and maintain all terms and agreements with suppliers while adhering to Quanex and SOX guidelines.
- Manage on-time deliveries from suppliers and maintain/distribute sourcing metrics.
- An associate degree in business is preferred.
- 5-7 years of manufacturing or related purchasing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Must have demonstrated skills in conflict resolution.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to this position as they are responsible for sharing and receiving information from all levels of the organization.
