Quanex is looking for a Large Capacity Forklift Driver - Day shift to join our team located in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
In this role, you are responsible for operating a 30,000 lb. large capacity industrial forklift to transport lumber to and from Kilns, work areas, and machines in a safe and efficient manner to meet production requirements. You will also be responsible for loading and unloading lumber trucks and performing other assigned production functions such as loading, unloading, stacking blanks of wood.

What’s attractive about the Forklift Operator position?
- Pay range is $19.00 - $23.00 per hour based on your applicable large capacity forklift experience
- Work Schedule: Tuesday-Friday: 6:00a - 4:30p & Overtime on Monday if needed
- Saturday and Sunday Off!
What Success Looks Like:
- Follows all safety procedures, rules, and guidelines and identifies any existing or potential safety issues.
- Attends work on time and for the scheduled hours each day.
- Follows operating procedures and notifies supervisor of potential procedural improvements.
- Delivers lumber to appropriate work centers or storage areas before they run out.
- Stages lumber in a logical, safe fashion.
- Conducts required preventative maintenance/inspection on forklifts.
What You Bring:
- 2-3 years of experience operating 30,000 lb. capacity forklifts with at least 6 months forklift experience working in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive work requiring high levels of concentration.
- Climbing in and out of the forklift repeatedly to perform multiple tasks related to staging lumber.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment.
- Ability to pass OSHA required forklift tests.
