Production Associate

Starting pay rate $14.00 per hour. 

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Production

ACCOUNTABILITY/REPORTS TO: Position reports to the Plant Manager and/or Production Supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY:  

Position works as part of a team with other co-workers in the preparation, finishing (ironing), and folding of all health care related type flatwork. Flatwork items include such things as flat sheets, pillow cases, bath blankets, surgical drapes and sheeting, scrub pants and shirts and other similar items which may be added to this list from time to time by management. Position may be requested to perform other related job functions from time to time as needed or requested by management. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: As a minimum, this position includes the following job duties: 1) Damp sorting of clean linen by finishing classification 2) Feeding of large pieces into ironer by means of a flatwork feeder 3) Feeding of small pieces into ironer by means of a feeding table 4) Receiving and/or final hand folding of finished flatwork items 5) The clean sorting and stacking of like finished flatwork items 6) All other duties as assigned POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: EDUCATION Minimum of High School education with a diploma and/or GED equivalent. Must be able to read, write and comprehend all written memos, directives, policies, procedures, forms and charts used by this department. WORKING CONDITIONS Employees working in the clean linen area may be required to work in hospital issued scrub uniforms which shall be changed daily. Employees may also be requested to wear a protective barrier gown and face mask while in the workplace. Gown and mask will be removed when leaving the restricted clean linen area. PHYSICAL DEMAND Operators assigned to this area shall have the physical strength to push/pull carts of clean damp linen having a weighted capacity of approximately 200-350 pounds. Operator will be required to roll cart (weighing approximately 100 pounds) from cart wash area.
