Quality Testing, LLC (QT) is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to provide technical leadership, manage complex projects, and support the continued growth of our geotechnical engineering practice.

Location: Gilbert, Arizona
Schedule: Full-time

This position is located in Gilbert, Arizona, and does not require travel.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will lead geotechnical investigations and provide technical guidance throughout the planning, design, and construction phases of projects.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Planning, managing, and overseeing geotechnical investigations
  • Developing project scopes, proposals, schedules, and budgets
  • Reviewing field exploration programs, boring logs, laboratory data, and subsurface information
  • Evaluating soil, rock, groundwater, and site conditions
  • Performing or reviewing geotechnical analyses and engineering calculations
  • Developing recommendations for shallow and deep foundations, earthwork, site preparation, settlement, retaining structures, slopes, and pavement systems
  • Preparing and reviewing geotechnical reports, technical memoranda, proposals, and construction recommendations
  • Providing technical consultation throughout the design and construction process
  • Reviewing construction materials testing and inspection results when relevant to project requirements
  • Performing senior-level quality assurance and quality control reviews
  • Signing and sealing engineering reports and other documents when required
  • Identifying technical risks and developing practical, cost-effective solutions
  • Coordinating with clients, owners, architects, contractors, public agencies, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Managing project scope, financial performance, schedules, deliverables, and client expectations
  • Supporting client development, proposal preparation, and business-growth efforts
  • Mentoring junior engineers, project engineers, technicians, and other technical staff
  • Promoting a culture of safety, integrity, technical excellence, accountability, and teamwork

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Active Professional Engineer license in Arizona or the ability to obtain Arizona registration through comity within an agreed-upon period
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible geotechnical engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing geotechnical investigations and engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, earthwork, settlement, slope stability, retaining structures, and pavement design
  • Experience preparing and reviewing geotechnical reports, calculations, recommendations, and technical specifications
  • Ability to independently evaluate complex subsurface conditions and develop practical engineering solutions
  • Experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations
  • Strong technical writing, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to review and seal engineering documents in accordance with professional and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor technical staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
  • Extensive knowledge of Arizona geology, soil conditions, construction practices, and agency requirements
  • Experience supporting transportation, municipal, commercial, industrial, or public infrastructure projects
  • Experience working with ADOT, municipalities, counties, or other public agencies
  • Experience overseeing construction materials testing or construction inspection operations
  • Established client relationships within Arizona’s engineering, construction, or development markets
  • Business development, proposal preparation, and client-account management experience
  • Experience supervising and developing engineers, technicians, and field personnel
  • Proficiency with commonly used geotechnical analysis and project-management software

Pay: $92,069.85 - $155,000.00 per year
