Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive CAD Operator to join our engineering team. This role is critical in the creation of engineered drawings, submittals and construction documents. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with AutoCAD and Bluebeam and will be able to collaborate with project engineers to create and edit project drawings and documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Using software such as AutoCAD and Bluebeam to develop drawings and assist in the design of low voltage specialty systems
- Follow all established design and drafting standards
- Work independently or within a team environment
- Request and obtain required information from Architects, Engineers and Contractors
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure accuracy of product and maintain project timelines
- Maintain communication with clients and stakeholders to support project goals and objectives
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, code standards and internal quality guidelines
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in CAD operation or design, or equivalent educational experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of construction project documentation and workflow
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field preferred
- Clean driving record and valid CA Driver’s License
- Must pass background check, subject to applicable laws
Work Environment
- Office environment, temperature-controlled
- Work Location: Stockton, CA, with occasional visits to local job sites
- Physical demands: Repetitive movement of hands and fingers, ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Typing and/or writing, talking and hearing
- Travel required: minimal, no overnights
