Position Overview
Quality Pre-Owned Automotive is seeking a skilled and dependable Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic and mechanical abilities, professional automotive repair experience, and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of used vehicles. The right candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently, and takes pride in getting the job done correctly.
We offer an air-conditioned shop and competitive, negotiable pay based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, preventive maintenance, and general automotive repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic equipment, technical manuals, schematics, and precision measuring instruments.
- Perform safety inspections and verify the proper operation of vehicle systems.
- Safely operate shop equipment, including automotive lifts, as required.
- Accurately document inspections, repairs, maintenance, and parts usage.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding vehicle condition, repair status, and technical issues.
- Diagnose problems efficiently and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all applicable workplace and automotive safety procedures.
Preferred Technical Skills
Experience with the following is a plus:
- Automotive electrical diagnostics and repair
- Industrial maintenance and troubleshooting practices
- Safe operation of automotive lifts and other shop equipment
Qualifications
- 4–5 years of professional automotive repair experience
- Valid Missouri Safety Inspector License required
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to perform general automotive repairs and preventive maintenance
- Ability to diagnose problems accurately and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Dependable, hardworking, and safety-conscious
- Strong communication skills and ability to document work clearly
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Compensation & Work Environment
Pay is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. We are willing to offer competitive compensation to the right candidate.
