Quality Plus Services Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Superintendent to oversee heavy commercial and industrial electrical construction projects throughout the Iowa area and on national travel assignments. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with experience managing large-scale electrical projects for General Contractors (GCs), including work within mission-critical facilities such as data centers and semiconductor environments.
The ideal candidate will maintain safety standards, coordinate field operations, manage manpower and schedules, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while upholding QPS’s commitment to excellence, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:
Safety Management
- Lead and enforce all jobsite safety initiatives and protocols
- Partner with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams to review safety performance regularly
- Maintain OSHA compliance and promote a culture of safety accountability
- Resource & Manpower Management
- Manage tools, equipment, rentals, and material usage efficiently
- Forecast manpower needs and coordinate staffing with Project Management
- Ensure proper labor utilization and productivity tracking
Crew Scheduling & Coordination
- Create and maintain crew schedules for field personnel
- Coordinate closely with Foremen, General Foremen, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with General Contractors (GCs) and other trades to maintain project schedules
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and maintain site-specific schedules with the Project Manager
- Oversee weekly work plans and project execution
- Track and assist with change orders, small project pricing, and field documentation
- Ensure all work is completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards
Quality Control & Leadership
- Maintain accountability for workmanship, productivity, and deadlines
- Mentor and develop field personnel
- Conduct regular site walks and quality inspections
Subcontractor & Client Coordination
- Schedule and supervise subcontractors on-site
- Maintain strong communication with clients, GCs, vendors, and project teams
- Support successful coordination meetings and project updates
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate project documentation including:
- Daily reports
- Change orders
- Progress updates
- Scheduling documentation
- Safety reporting
- Communicate critical project information to field leadership teams
Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role within heavy commercial or industrial electrical construction
- Experience working directly with General Contractors (GCs) required
- Data center and/or semiconductor project experience is highly preferred
- Experience on large-scale industrial, mission-critical, or fast-paced commercial projects is a plus
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations, and construction site operations
- Knowledge of scheduling, manpower forecasting, and project coordination
- Leadership & Communication
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication skills with field teams, subcontractors, clients, and project stakeholders
- Ability to problem-solve quickly and maintain project momentum
Certifications & Requirements
- OSHA certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must pass a background check
