What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Driver position at Quality Plumbing & Heating?
Truck Driver – Heavy Loads & Skilled Hands
Pay: $25–$35 per hour (based on experience)
This role carries more than cargo.
It carries responsibility.
We're seeking an experienced Truck Driver who understands that safety is not a checklist—it's a habit, a mindset, and a promise made every time the engine turns over. Someone steady on the road, careful with equipment, and committed to protecting themselves, their coworkers, and the public.
What You'll Do
- Safely haul large loads across highways, city streets, and active construction sites
- Load, strap, and secure materials with precision, ensuring every load is properly balanced and compliant
- Pull trailers confidently while maintaining safe speeds, distances, and awareness in all driving conditions
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, following all operating and site safety procedures
- Assist with other heavy equipment as needed (a plus, not a requirement)
- Conduct basic equipment and load checks to ensure safe operation before and during transport
- Use electronic devices (phones, tablets, GPS) responsibly and in accordance with company safety expectations—never in a way that distracts from safe driving or jobsite awareness
- Maintain clear, timely communication with supervisors and foremen regarding schedules, locations, delays, site conditions, and any safety concerns
- Represent the company with professionalism and a strong safety-first attitude at every site
What We're Looking For
- Minimum age: 28 years old
- Demonstrated experience loading, strapping, and securing large loads safely
- Proven ability to pull trailers through varied environments while prioritizing safety
- Forklift proficiency with a consistent record of safe operation
- Experience operating additional heavy equipment is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow direction while speaking up when something doesn't look or feel safe
- A calm, alert driver who takes pride in doing things the right way—every time
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly pay: $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience
- Steady work in an environment where safety is expected, supported, and respected
- A role built on trust, responsibility, and respect for skilled labor
