Duties
- Greet pet owners warmly, schedule appointments, and manage the reception area efficiently
- Perform pet bathing, grooming, coat styling, nail trimming, and other pet grooming services with care and precision
- Handle animal restraint safely during grooming procedures to ensure pet and staff safety
- Assist with pet handling during grooming sessions, demonstrating gentle and effective techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations and ensure all equipment is sanitized and well-maintained
- Communicate clearly with pet owners about their pets’ grooming needs, progress, and aftercare instructions
- Support kennel duties such as cleaning, and caring for animals when needed
- Assist with heavy lifting of supplies or animals to ensure safety and efficiency in daily tasks
Skills
- Strong animal handling skills with experience in dog training, veterinary assistance, or animal care roles
- Knowledge of pet grooming techniques including coat styling and pet nail trimming
- Familiarity with veterinary or veterinary technician experience is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Ability to perform animal restraint safely during grooming or veterinary procedures
- Experience in kennel management or pet sitting is advantageous
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Compassionate approach to companion animal handling and animal care responsibilities
